The Greatest of all Books

Charles Ryrie wrote, ‘The Bible is the greatest of all books; to study it is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals.’

Many in our church started this year 2025 with a goal of reading the Bible all the way through.  Some of us have kept up with the goal, some of us have fallen behind, and some may be thinking of giving up.  Now we are halfway through the year.  Remember if you started the year reading through the Bible this year and you have fallen behind or stopped you haven’t failed.  This is a great time to renew your commitment to reading the Bible through.  Just begin where you left off.  Keep going.

“All Scripture is inspired by God, and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
 - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 CSB

We know there is great benefit to our heart, mind, and life through God’s Word.  Reading or listening to God’s Word each day helps understand God’s character and gain insights to living a life that reflects his light to a world living in darkness.  As it says in the Bible,

“How sweet your word is to my taste - sweeter than honey in my mouth. I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore, I hate every false way.  Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.”
 - Psalms 119:103-105 CSB

May you enjoy the sweetness of God’s Word each and every day.
