Finding a Church Home

Finding a church can be exhausting spiritually, mentally, and emotionally - even physically, but it’s worth it.  Finding a community where you can grow in your faith and serve takes time.  This community allows us to experience the love, grace, and accountability God intends for His people.

Here are some tips to help you find a church.

  1. Pray and seek God’s leadership.

  2. Identify the type of church you’re looking for.
Make sure the church is biblical.

  3. Check out the church’s website and look at social media.

  4. Attend a worship service or watch online.

  5. Check out a Sunday school class, small group, and/or activity.
Be sure to talk to the staff and members.  Ask them why they decided on this church as their church home.

  6. Visit more than once and continue to pray.

  7. Join and contribute to your new church family.

It’s important to always remember that no church is perfect. Because churches are made up of imperfect people.  Every congregation will have its strengths and areas that need improvement. Just like in a marriage or family, the imperfections of a church don’t define its worth, rather it highlights the ongoing process of becoming more like Jesus that we are all on as believers.

Finding the church that is right for you is about finding a spiritual family where you can grow, worship, and serve together with fellow believers that share your passion for God and His Word, while also extending grace to one another.  Remember while nothing is perfect, God can work powerfully through imperfect vessels to bring about His purposes and transform lives for His Kingdom.

Grace and Peace,
Brian Frank
