Something Bigger
This is the month school starts. For some children it is, ‘Oh no!’; for others it is, ‘Yes!’. It is amazing how there can be two views so different on school. Different views come up on almost any topic. And boy, do we have a big one over the next three months. Over the past series in our worship, I am reminded of two things:
1) God does not want us to be alone. We are not called the body of Christ or the family of God for no reason. In Christ, God desires for us to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Something even bigger than the Presidential election.
2) God wants us to share the good news of being made whole in Christ. When we share this good news others will see Christ in a new light and choose to follow Him as we do.
Last week, the lady cutting my hair had some tattoos on her arm of planets, the space shuttle, and a satellite. I asked her about them. She said that she was interested in astronomy and how God created this amazing universe for us to live in. She and her daughters and her boyfriend go to church together. It made me smile that I discovered a sister in Christ, because I was willing to talk to her about something like her tattoos.
What is exciting about the Gospel, the good news, is it can be the start of the best thing to happen to someone or it can be a great celebration for people from the same family. I thank God for reminding me of these two things this week. I hope He blesses you with someone(s) to share the good news with this month.
Grace and Peace
