It’s November, we are thinking of Thanksgiving. What are you thankful for? The Bible talks about "plenties" we receive from our Heavenly Father. You can use this list as a reminder to count your blessings; a prompt from God’s promises to expect God’s blessings.
Plenty of Food:
"You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied" (Joel 2:26).Plenty of Water:
"You, O God, sent a plentiful rain" (Psalm 68:9).Plenty of Goods:
"The Lord will grant you plenty of goods" (Deuteronomy 28:11).Plenty of Production:
"The LORD your God will make you abound in all the work of your hand..." (Deuteronomy 30:9).Plenty in Store:
"So your barns will be filled with plenty" (Proverbs 3:10); " ...bread enough and to spare" (Luke 15:17).Plenty for All:
"... A bountiful country" (Jeremiah 2:7).Plenty of Mercy:
"Slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy" (Psalm 103:8, KJV).Plentiful Pardon:
"Return to the LORD ... for He will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:7).Plentiful Peace:
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7).Plentiful Redemption:
"With the LORD there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption" (Psalm 130:7); "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).Plentiful Grace:
"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, have an abundance for every good work" (2 Corinthians 9:8).Plentiful Resources:
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us" (Ephesians 3:20).Plenty for the Future:
"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Corinthians 2:9).
God makes no apology for being willing to lavish life's fullness on us, over us, and around us. "Life more abundantly" is still the divine intent. Go ahead. Slide up to your Heavenly Father's table, thank Him, and help yourself.
Grace and Peace,
Brian Frank
